Reclaiming what pain took away

“I’m in a place I would have given anything to be in last year.”

I’m starting to have fewer Pain Reprocessing Therapy sessions because I have reclaimed areas of my life I thought were lost forever to chronic pain.

I’m in a place I would have given anything to be in this time last year. I’ve even started lifting weights!

My therapist, Rick Hamman, has been by my side every step of the way, and has been integral to my progress, riding the ups and downs with such compassion.

He is so knowledgeable, experienced, and qualified—but it’s not only that. Rick is calm, patient, and nonjudgmental. He mixes a blend of therapeutic approaches, all based on a foundation of hard science. And as a bonus, he’s hilarious. 😅 He didn’t pay me to write this, promise.

Rick does a free discovery call too, with no obligations. So, at the risk of this sounding even more like a sales pitch: if you’re struggling with chronic pain, you really have nothing to lose.

Pain, anxiety, insomnia, and life beyond symptoms

Support through the difficult parts—not only the breakthroughs

Recovery is rarely a perfectly straight line. Good coaching means having someone who can help you understand setbacks, recognize real progress, and determine when a symptom may—or may not—fit a mindbody pattern.

When I first started working with Rick, I was in crisis.

My pain was increasing, my anxiety was out of control, and I had terrible insomnia.

It took several sessions, but Rick was able to calm me down and convince me that all of these were TMS. It took time, but eventually, with consistent education on mindbody principles and exercises, I became more active, and slowly the pain went away.

The anxiety started to subside, and the insomnia became easier to deal with.

All of these things happened because of the incredible support that Rick provided every step of the way.

After the pain subsided, I started to develop stomach issues, which of course Rick assured me was TMS.

Rick understands that not everything is TMS, though. I’m currently facing shoulder surgery, and Rick has been incredible in helping me move forward with the decision to have the surgery.

Of course, we tried every TMS option he could think of, but that allowed me to realize that this is indeed structural.

The TMS symptoms are gone, but I continue to see Rick as a life coach. He was also instrumental in guiding me through a breakup that was a huge source of the TMS pain.

I’m not sure that I could have done all of this on my own.

If you’re looking to overcome TMS with someone who provides outstanding support, I highly recommend Rick Hamman. Don’t delay. Begin your healing now!

Digestive symptoms and the mindbody connection

“I’m in awe of how much I have improved.”

I reached out to Rick with major stomach issues. I’d had bloating, gas, and burning nerves in my upper stomach for many years.

I tried all the medical treatments available with no improvement.

Rick walked me through the approach of mindbody healing, with many tools to use on a daily basis.

The extent to which I have improved is a direct result of Rick’s coaching on a weekly basis. He reinforces that I am not my stomach and that my thoughts are keeping these symptoms in a loop pattern.

The power of believing in his methods, with consistency, can help achieve a mind and body that feel safe and are able to heal.

I’m in awe of how much I have improved with his vast knowledge and his own experience with mindbody healing.

I’m so thankful for the day I reached out to him.

Recovery is not only about lowering a pain number.

It can mean walking farther, exercising again, studying, sleeping with less fear, making plans, trusting your body, and no longer organizing every part of your day around symptoms.

From long-term pain to meaningful change

Progress can begin even after years of feeling stuck

I’d spent over 20 years dealing with chronic pain and then several more reading everything I could about TMS, convinced that’s what I had, but stuck moving beyond it.

It wasn’t until I decided I needed to actually talk to someone that I started to see permanent improvement.

Thanks to Rick, I went from being unable to walk down my driveway to walking over 10 miles a day on a recent vacation.

Rick has really helped me pull all the pieces together. He’s super insightful, easy to talk to, and goes the extra mile. Can I give him stars? Five stars!

Rick truly saved my life. The migraines had ruined my life. As a student, I could not even think, let alone study.

Though I wanted to improve as quickly as possible, I remained patient and did the work as he explained it. A large part of my overcoming this was Pain Reprocessing Therapy and putting up resistance to the headaches.

Soon, I could start doing things I had given up for years before meeting Rick. I could not be more grateful for his guidance.

Lisa B.

I want to extend my sincerest thanks and gratitude to Rick for helping me navigate through my chronic pain recovery journey.

Rick’s own experience with TMS, combined with his wealth of knowledge on the subject, helped me tremendously with my own education and eventual recovery.

I had suffered for most of two years, and once I eventually learned what was really wrong with me, it took me a few sessions over a period of two and a half months to fully recover.

Rick is also always only a text message away and ready to offer a helping hand. Thank you so much, Rick!

Jalal M.

I found Rick to be the most caring and empathetic person that I have worked with in this space. He has an amazing sense of humor too, which is great because I often needed a good laugh to get me through all of the difficult days of dealing with my IBS.

Knowing that he had also dealt with IBS for many years made me feel better about working with him. No one in the medical world made me feel understood. Rick always did.

And today I have no symptoms. Thanks, Rick!

Coaching that adapts to the person

Knowledge matters. So do patience, flexibility, and support.

I’ve been working with Rick and have found him to be an extremely compassionate coach with lots of input and ideas for healing.

He is available between sessions by email or chat as well, which is amazing and so helpful.

Rick is a great listener and is so flexible—with no pressure, which I appreciate so much. I can wholeheartedly say Rick has been such a wonderful support for me in trying to sort through my multifaceted situation.

Dawn C.

He is always bringing new ideas and methods to sessions. I swear he is like an encyclopedia when it comes to this stuff.

If something doesn’t work for me, we try something different. He has a way of explaining complex concepts to regular people like me.

This stuff is difficult for me at times to understand, and he is always patient with me. You can tell that he cares a lot about his people.

Jennifer Z.

Rick is a great coach. Very motivating and isn’t afraid to tell you what you need to hear.

He is always available to send texts during the week and genuinely cares. I have seen many coaches, and he’s the best I’ve seen!

Evan D.

I’ve been working with Rick for three to four months, and I have to say he’s been a Godsend for me as a pain coach.

He’s helped me understand TMS and how to cope with and deal with the pain so much better. I can’t thank him enough.

Plus, he’s about a third of the price of another coach I used, and he’s most definitely better.

In their own words

Sometimes the simplest statements say the most

Great coach! Great price! Great result!

Michael M.

Twenty years of pain. Gone in six months. Rick is a miracle worker.

Gayle D.

I worked with two Pain Reprocessing therapists at three times the price and got nowhere. I found Rick, and I never looked back.

Lisa C.

Rick being available by direct message made all the difference. I had so many questions at first, and he was always there to answer them between sessions.

Mary L.

I never thought I would be free of back pain again. Rick convinced me to let my belief grow as we went. I’m so glad that he did.

Jan T.

The biggest difference was finally having someone help me make sense of the symptoms instead of giving me another thing to fear.

What these stories have in common

They did not need to become fearless before they began.

Many people start coaching while they are still uncertain, still symptomatic, and still afraid something has been missed. The first step is not forcing yourself to believe. It is learning whether your symptoms fit a brain-based pain pattern and beginning to respond to that pattern differently.

Their pain was real

A neuroplastic or mindbody explanation does not mean symptoms are imagined. The brain and nervous system can produce genuine, intense physical symptoms as part of a learned protective response.

Progress took different forms

For some people, progress meant less pain. For others, it first meant less panic, better sleep, more movement, fewer restrictions, or the confidence to begin living again before every symptom was gone.

Your story does not have to end where it is now

You do not need a guarantee to take one informed first step.

A free discovery call gives us a chance to discuss your symptoms, what you have already tried, and whether Pain Reprocessing Therapy or TMS coaching may be appropriate for your situation. There is no obligation and no pressure to continue.

Coaching is educational and supportive and is not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, psychotherapy, or emergency services. Outcomes vary, and no particular result can be promised.
